Kayo Mimizuka is a Graduate Research Fellow at the Center for Media Engagement at The University of Texas at Austin. She is also a doctoral student in the School of Journalism and Media. Her research interests include the dissemination of false information in closed messaging apps, the weaponization of media literacy, and online right-wing movements in Japan and the U.S. Kayo worked as a journalist at a Japanese news agency and holds a M.A. in Media, Culture, and Communication from New York University.
