Shengchun Huang, Ph.D., is a tenure-track assistant professor at the School of Journalism at Moody College. While completing her doctorate at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania, Huang’s interdisciplinary research explores how AI-driven media systems shape news consumption, user perceptions, and democratic engagement. Her work blends computational, quantitative, and qualitative methods to examine algorithmic curation, affective polarization, and platform power—earning publication in top journals such as New Media & Society, Political Communication, and Information, Communication & Society. With prior degrees from Tsinghua University and Renmin University of China, and professional experience as a journalist and editor, Huang brings a global perspective and a deep commitment to advancing the future of political communication and media research.
