Katlyn is a Research Associate at Illuminas and an affiliate fellow at the Center for Media Engagement (CME) at The University of Texas at Austin (UT). She graduated with an M.A. in Journalism and Media and a B.S. in Corporate Communications from The University of Texas at Austin. Her previous work explores the role of encrypted messaging applications in the spread of viral political mis-and disinformation. Her research interests revolve around the relationship between user perceptions and behaviors as it relates to political communication on messaging apps.
