Jose Puente is a senior at The University of Texas at Austin, majoring in political communication with a minor in government. Jose serves as a Policy Committee member for Communication Council, a Dean’s Ambassador for Moody College of Communication, is a former Transfer Representative in the UT Austin Student Government Assembly, and is involved in the co-ed spirit organization, Texas Infinites. He grew up in Ennis, TX, a small, rural town near Dallas, where his passion from community service began. In the future, he hopes to create change in civic resources for communities he is a part of, such as the Latino and LGBT communities. Additionally, Jose has passions for the entertainment industry and is interested in intersecting research regarding celebrity politics/endorsements and social media within political settings. Jose’s hobbies include keeping up with the news, going to his favorite frutería, and listening to the latest Ariana Grande song.
