The Center for Media Engagement is thrilled to announce new roles for two of our team members. Gina Masullo Chen will move into the Associate Director position, taking on new responsibilities for project oversight, and Melody Avant will act as Assistant Director of Administration, expanding her role in directing human resources and handling center finances. Chen is a former journalist and an assistant professor in the School of Journalism at the University of Texas at Austin. Avant joined the team in 2015 and played an instrumental role in the center’s transition from the Engaging News Project to the Center for Media Engagement. Chen joined the team in 2016 as a Faculty Research Associate and became Assistant Director in 2018.
