Researcher Wins Grad School Award

Research Associate Josh Scacco was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Research Assistant award by the Graduate School at the University of Texas at Austin for his work on the Center for Media Engagement.

Josh has been a part of the project since its beginnings. He has helped with creating and programming experiments, analyzing data, and writing reports. He has dedicated countless hours above and beyond what was expected, has advanced the research being done, has displayed remarkable interpersonal skills in interfacing with media outlets and other researchers, and has come to be a trusted research assistant. Josh is currently doing research on comment sections.

Josh is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Communication Studies at UT. He is currently finishing his dissertation, which examines how presidents set expectations for the future. This fall, he will join the faculty of the Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University as an assistant professor of media theory and politics.
